文德斯1995年的纪录片，其实是他在慕尼黑电影学校教学期间鼓励学生们一起跟他玩的纪录片。纪录片献给了德国电影先驱与卢米埃尔几乎在同时发明电影的德国人马可斯兄弟。因为素材少，于是就用默片的方式来搬演。影片前15分钟可以单独成章，是用马克斯女儿的旁白来演出父亲如何发明活动影像。随后才放入当时已白发苍苍的女儿露西的访谈。 文德斯还嫌玩得不够，于是把照片里的三兄弟之一和露西的姐姐一起请出来，黑白的他们和彩色的世界。又是一出天使下凡的《柏林苍穹下》，那些漂亮的移动镜头配合了先人抬头观看的黑白画面，说不出的美丽。。Made during confinement, “In My Room” plunges us into the poignant story of a woman at the twilight of her life, through recordings of the director’s deceased grandmother.
